Virtual Consultation
All training starts with an initial virtual or in-person consultation. This is meant to establish a comprehensive behavioral history and set clear training objectives and does not require meeting your dog. However, in-person consultations can be arranged.
You will receive a customized training plan consisting of a summary of our discussion, your ranked training goals, and a tailored step-by-step treatment plan for your dog, along with immediate management strategies to mitigate any stress related to your dog's behavior.
Use virtual consultations to help you prepare and get your house ready for new puppies, adoptions, or rescues.
Topics include puppy-proofing the house, what foods to avoid, kennel/crate training, potty training, getting through the nights, socializing, bite inhibition, and nipping behavioral problems in the bud.For rescues and adoptions, topics include: minimizing stress, building trust, establishing a bond, and dealing with current and emerging behavior problems.
*Hint: You can schedule your consultation and your first training session at the same time. Just be sure the consultation is completed at least 24 hrs. before the training session.

In-person Consultation
Enjoy a 1-hr consultation in your home where we can meet your dog on his turf.
A certified trainer will come to your home (or other agreed upon location) to assess your dog’s behavior, listen to your concerns, and devise a customized training plan.
By observing your dog and your interactions in its home environment, behavioral issues can be precisely identified and addressed. This method ensures the dog's behavior is not influenced by the stress of being assessed in an unfamiliar location.
In-person Consultations : $100/1 hr

Email Support
You may find that you need more than the two emails that come free between sessions when you buy a package deal. Or maybe you just have several questions and don’t need a whole training session, then one of these Email Suppoprt packages may be for you!
Email Support Pricing Policy
To provide continued guidance and support between training sessions, PJH Dog Training offers structured email consultation options:
1. Per Email Pricing
$20 per email (up to 3 questions)
Best for occasional follow-ups or one-time questions.
2. Prepaid Email Packages
$75 for 5 emails ($15 per email, discounted rate).
$140 for 10 emails ($14 per email, best value).
Clients can prepay and use email support as needed.
Email Response Time:
PJH Dog Training aims to respond within 24–48 hours.
Emergency concerns should be addressed via a scheduled call or session.
Note: Excessive or overly detailed inquiries may require a scheduled phone or video consultation instead.

Pre-appointment details
Prior to booking please agree to the waiver and complete your intake form. Use this link if you somehow didn’t fill out the forms while booking your appointment.

This link will ask you to book a 5 min appointment for which there is no cost (it’s the only way to fill out the forms!). I’ll go back and delete the appointment, just pick any day and time available it doesn’t matter.

Appointments may be booked up to 12 hrs before hand or with my approval. Payment is due in full at the time of booking. I accept credit cards, atm cards, Apple Pay, Pay Pal and Peer to Peer Payment Apps (Zelle, Venmo, Cash App) which are always welcome as they don’t incur processing fees! Just call to arrange before booking.
Please Note: All appointments (Check-ups and Group Classes excluded) require that an initial consultation be booked and completed at least 24 hrs. before your scheduled training session.
If purchasing a package, please use the provided code to book remaining appointments marked "...for use with packages" rather than a regular one-time appointment that will have a fee.
Cancellation policies/Late Arrivals
Appointments may be canceled or rescheduled up to 24 hrs in advance without loss of payment (less 3% to cover processing fees).
Cancellations <24 hrs and no call/no shows will forfeit entire prepayment.
Cancellations approved by both parties due to inclement weather or other circumstances will incur no fee and will be rescheduled at the earliest convenience.
Cancellations for Group Classes are not refunded but may be made up by booking a private session.
Late arrivals within reason are allowed - we live in NYC right? However, the session must end at the same time if there is another pup scheduled in the next appointment slot.
Late arrivals for group classes may have to find their own way to the class location. Try to call ahead if running late or to find us.
Weather-related cancellations — Classes will still be held under very light rain conditions, with heavy rain, every effort will be made to reschedule during the same week or an additional week will be added to the end of the series. Please plan for at least one weather-related cancelation.
Training Session Expiration & Reactivation Policy
At PJH Dog Training, our goal is to provide timely and effective training solutions that help you and your dog achieve lasting success. To ensure consistency and prevent behavioral issues from worsening due to delayed training, all training sessions must be used within a set timeframe.
Expiration Policy
All private training sessions and packages expire 3 months (90 days) from the date of purchase.
Clients are responsible for scheduling and attending their sessions within this timeframe. Unused sessions will be forfeited once expired.
Reactivation Policy
If a session or package expires, clients may reactivate unused sessions for a fee of 25% of the original session price per session reactivated.
Reactivation requests must be made within 3 months of expiration. After this period, expired sessions cannot be reinstated.
Reactivated sessions must be used within 30 days of reactivation.
Additional Notes
No refunds or credits will be issued for unused or expired sessions.
Scheduling flexibility is available, but it is the client's responsibility to book sessions within the designated period.
If you anticipate scheduling conflicts, please notify us in advance so we can help you make the most of your training package.

Aggressive Dogs
All dogs must be friendly to be in group classes.
Please let me know if there is any history of aggression to humans or other dogs before class begins because there may be more appropriate training possibilities I can offer.
Aggressive, overly loud dogs will be asked to attend private training sessions rather than group classes.
All dogs can be aggressive, it’s absolutely fine, let’s work together!
Sick Dogs
All dogs must be in good health with no obvious symptoms of illness including: Diarrhea, coughing, discharge from nose or eyes etc.
Please call to cancel any immanent appointments ASAP.
Last minute cancelations <1hr may still be charged a fee at the discretion of the Dr. Hernandez.
Cancelled appointments should be made up ASAP as to not disrupt the training flow.
Dogs found to be sick at/after drop off will be sent home immediately. Class will be refunded or rescheduled at the discretion of Dr. Hernandez.
