The Day School Experience
@ PJ’s Dog Training
First of all, don’t confuse Day School with Day Care. That, it is not! Instead, think of Day School as a three hour block of time to do whatever you like while your pup is fully engaged in a range of educational and enriching activities.

Socialization Opportunities: Supervised interactions with other dogs to enhance social skills and reduce anxiety in various environments.
Physical Exercise: Engaging activities to promote physical health and mental stimulation (e.g., agility, nose work, object discrimination, and trick learning) ensuring a well-rounded experience.
Rest Periods: Scheduled downtime to allow your dog to relax and process the day's learning, contributing to overall well-being. If over arousal is an issue, we teach them how to go from being aroused to feeling relaxed.

Day school enhances
private training
Our Puppy Day School and Adolescent Day School sessions focus on building a strong foundation of skills and abilities all of which are needed to successfully address other behavioral issues that might come up and are being addressed in private training or group training.
Day school is the perfect add on for group obedience training in that we review those lessons at length during Day School. Let’s face it, how many parents have 3 hours a day or even a week to reinforce what’s taught in group obedience class. Well we do! Ensuring your dog not only grows into a well-mannered companion but also thrives emotionally, mentally, and physically!
Each session is designed with your dog’s growth in mind and includes obedience basics such as sit, down, stay, leave it, drop it, and recall. These foundational commands are taught through engaging, positive reinforcement techniques that make learning enjoyable and rewarding for your puppy or adolescent. To further nurture their curiosity and cognitive development, we incorporate enrichment activities that stimulate their growing minds and help them learn problem-solving skills. These are precisely the skills needed in almost every private training situation I’ve ever encountered. Folks enrolled in Day School consistently find the experience extremely rewarding and to have enhanced their private training progress.
Day school provides social opportunities and enrichment
Puppies and adolescent dogs benefit from structured playtime, which provides a safe and supervised environment for them to explore and burn off energy. This is complemented by pack walks (for adolescents), which encourage healthy social interactions and reinforce leash manners. Guided socialization activities are a key component, helping your puppy or adolescent build confidence and learn appropriate behaviors when interacting with other dogs, people, and new environments.
Last but not least, we will fill you in on how your dog did that day with a report on his mood, interactions with other dogs, skills done well and those that need work. We’ll give you a homework assignment to help improve anything needed attention and training tips to help. We’ll also send a digital photo to you of your pup in action during the day!!!
Why PJ’s Day School and Not the One Down the Street?
We boast an incredible 3:1 dog to trainer ratio!

Not only that, but we will work with your pup on whatever behavior you need.
Enrichment activities are taken seriously as they provide opportunities for less common sensory experiences to supercharge your pups motivation and happiness, relieving boredom and reducing maladaptive behaviors.
